Protective pigments of the macula. They filter intense blue light. Dark leafy greens, corn, and egg yolks are richest sources. Daily 6-10 mg recommended.

DHA is a structural component of the retina. EPA may support tear quality. Salmon, mackerel, sardines, walnuts, and flaxseed are good sources.

Both are powerful antioxidants. Vitamin C supports lens health, vitamin E protects cell membranes. Citrus, peppers, almonds, hazelnuts are rich sources.

Zinc

Key role in retinal metabolism. Necessary for transporting vitamin A to the retina. Meat, shellfish, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc.

Tear film quality depends on hydration. Drinking at least 1.5-2 liters of water daily may help reduce dry eyes.
